Steven Cherin is a Partner of Pyes & Cherin, LLP. He has devoted his career to the firm and in providing knowledgeable and efficient legal representation to its clients. Mr. Cherin has appeared in State and Federal Courts for numerous corporate and private clients in matters concerning real estate, business disputes, contested estates and family law.

Mr. Cherin holds a real estate broker's license and is a licensed private detective. He taught real estate and criminal law courses at the City Colleges of Chicago and at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois, and lectures before various civic groups.

Mr. Cherin's contribution to the legal community includes his role as Attorney Mentor with the Illinois State Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Arbitration Association's Panel of Arbitrators and former arbitrator for the Illinois Mandatory Arbitration Program, Cook County Division. His volunteer work extends to membership in the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and providing pro bono legal representation. With the American Radio Relay League, Mr. Cherin serves as a volunteer counsel. He also volunteers as an examiner with the Amateur Radio Service of the Federal Communications Commission.

As co-founder of Pyes & Cherin, LLP, Harvey Pyes has provided legal services to the Chicagoland area for more than 50 years. Mr. Pyes' career in law has evolved into today's varied practice. He continues to promote the best quality legal representation.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pyes has served on various committees of the Illinois State Bar Association, including holding the position of Chairman of the Young Lawyers Section and of the Commercial, Banking and Bankruptcy Section, together with the General Practice Section. Mr. Pyes attained the honor of Senior Counselor Status in 2004. He is also the author of "Confession of Judgment in Illinois," published in the Illinois State Bar Journal.

Mr. Pyes has contributed his knowledge and experience to the business and banking industries, including several corporate boards. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Highwood and New Century Bank. Mr. Pyes also was a member of the Bank Commissioner's Committee for a Dual Banking System.

An active member of his community, Mr. Pyes received the Trustee Medal in 2009 from Rush University, Chicago, and the 2006 Trustee Medal from Rush North Shore Medical Center, Skokie, Illinois, where he served as a Trustee from 1991 to 2009 and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2001. His service to the community also includes Trustee at the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago.
